Ngatizivane. Masazane!

Our families and ancestors teach us that marriage is more than just two people — it’s two families coming together in unity.
For AJ and Ce, that journey has looked a little different. Their paths crossed, love grew, and their bond has carried them through distance and difference. From this flourishing love, Ce journeyed abroad, where a new family blossomed, long before our two families could join as one.
On the 25th of October 2025, our two Families will gather, to see & know each other, to celebrate, and to affirm our unity & tradition, as we re-initiate lobola talks. This will begin the process of formally and traditionally connecting our wider families as a whole. Just like AJ and Ce’s love, this moment is about patience, perseverance, and deep commitment.
We gather not only to celebrate AJ and Ce’s love, but also the light of their firstborn son, Rio. He is playful, full of promise, and a living reminder of unity, hope, and the future we are building together.
To our parents, we ask for your continued love and guidance — to surround this couple and help us raise our children in the richness of their culture. And may Rio, and the children still to come, look back on this collection of stories and pictures and know that no matter the season, family will always come from near and far to remind them: they are never alone.
